Part-Time Driver

Schedule: 7:00 AM–11:00 AM and 3:00 PM–5:30 PM
Hours: Approximately 32.5 hours per week
Reports To: Sarah Weerts, Acting Director of Support Services

Avancer Homes, LLC is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Driver to provide transportation for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Driver will safely transport individuals served to residential homes, day programming, appointments, activities, and other approved locations.

This is a split-shift position. Applicants must be available for both the morning and afternoon portions of the schedule.

• Safely transport individuals served to assigned locations.

• Follow scheduled transportation routes and Agency safety procedures.

• Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles as needed.

• Properly secure passengers, wheelchairs, and mobility equipment.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of Agency vehicles.

• Report vehicle, maintenance, accident, or safety concerns promptly.

• Complete required transportation documentation.

• Maintain confidentiality and treat individuals served with dignity and respect.

• Communicate professionally with Agency staff and management.

• Must be at least 25 years of age due to Agency automobile insurance requirements.

• Must possess a valid Illinois driver's license.

• Driving record must meet Agency insurance requirements.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Must successfully complete required background and driving-record checks.

• Must be dependable and able to work the full split-shift schedule.

• Must be able to lift and/or assist with up to 50 pounds as required.

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) is preferred but not required.

• Are you at least 25 years of age?

• Do you currently possess a valid Illinois driver's license?

• Do you have a driving record that would allow you to operate an Agency vehicle?

• Are you available to work the split schedule of 7:00 AM–11:00 AM and 3:00 PM–5:30 PM?

• Are you available to work approximately 32.5 hours per week?

• Do you have previous professional driving or transportation experience? If yes, please describe.

• Do you have previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD)?

• Are you comfortable assisting individuals with safely entering and exiting vehicles?

• Are you comfortable safely securing wheelchairs or other mobility equipment after receiving appropriate training?

• Are you able to lift and/or assist with up to 50 pounds when required?

• Are you willing and able to complete all required background checks, driving-record verification, and Agency training requirements?

• Please describe any experience you have transporting individuals in a healthcare, residential, disability-services, senior-care, school, or community-based setting.
