Job Description
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our dynamic team supporting the Department of Higher Education’s Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fiscal processing, invoice management, and administrative operations and a proven ability to manage accurate financial tracking, ensure compliance, and maintain organized records.
Responsibilities:
- Provide fiscal and administrative support to OSFA, with onsite work required on Mondays.
- Process refund checks and update NIL collections invoices.
- Process OSFA invoices during staff absences, including monthly submission, tracking, postage use tracking and reporting, and ECSI-related invoices.
- Maintain spreadsheets to track submissions and support NIL Promissory Note manifest processing.
- Assist with intake, review, and tracking of documentation related to institutional eligibility for state financial aid programs.
- Order supplies, assist with mailings and scanning, and respond to calls from students and families.
- Coordinate with other DHE work units and provide general administrative and meeting-planning support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications for documents, reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and established practices.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and information per established procedures and formats.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare clear, concise, and logically organized materials.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality with the ability to handle special projects as assigned.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and establish rapport across levels.
- Adaptability to changing priorities, varying situations, and urgent operational needs.
