Indsutrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer analyzes and improves manufacturing operations by optimizing facility layouts, workflows, labor utilization, and production systems. This role focuses on increasing productivity, reducing waste, improving material flow, and maximizing the efficient use of personnel, equipment, and production space while supporting ongoing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Analyze and improve manufacturing workflows, production processes, and work cell configurations to increase operational efficiency and throughput.
• Design and optimize production floor layouts, equipment placement, and workspace utilization to support efficient material and personnel flow.
• Evaluate workforce utilization, staffing requirements, and production capacity to support operational objectives and meet production targets.
• Lead facility and work cell improvement projects focused on reducing waste, minimizing bottlenecks, and improving productivity.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard work procedures, and workflow maps to ensure consistency and clarity in operations.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and labor studies to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, planning, and engineering teams to improve operational effectiveness and support changing production demands.
• Partner with design and planning teams to ensure manufacturing layouts and processes support current and future production requirements.
• Evaluate equipment, tooling, and material handling solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and workplace ergonomics.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to define equipment specifications, assess capabilities, and coordinate equipment procurement and installation.
• Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Estimate production capacity, labor requirements, and implementation costs to support management decision-making and project justification.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence initiatives throughout the facility.
• Support production planning activities by evaluating manufacturing capabilities, resource constraints, and overall facility capacity.

• Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with manufacturing operations, facility layouts, workflow optimization, and production systems.
• Hands-on experience with labor studies, capacity planning, and workstation or work cell design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD/layout software for facility layout and work cell design.
• Experience in facility layout, work cell design, production floor layout design, and work cell implementation.
• Ability to perform equipment placement optimization, material flow analysis, space utilization planning, and manufacturing line balancing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing layout, factory layout, production flow, and line balancing techniques.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process engineering, and manufacturing engineering principles.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, and process optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production data and recommend improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems and data analysis tools.

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification is preferred.
• Experience leading facility redesign, manufacturing cell implementation, or operational improvement projects.
• Experience participating in or leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Comfort working cross-functionally with manufacturing, production, planning, engineering, and supplier teams.

The role operates in a manufacturing facility environment focused on efficient production, continuous improvement, and collaborative problem-solving. The Industrial Engineer works closely with production, planning, and engineering teams and regularly engages in on-floor activities such as observing workflows, validating layouts, and conducting time and capacity studies. The position typically follows a 4/10 schedule, providing a three-day weekend with every Friday off. The organization offers a paid one-week shutdown period and 10 paid holidays. The culture emphasizes operational excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and ongoing process improvement, with access to tools such as CAD/layout software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. Food is periodically provided on site as part of the workplace experience.

This is a Permanent position based out of Oxnard, CA.

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
