Financial Analyst Project Finance & Investments

About the Role Kearsarge is a developer, owner, and operator of distributed and utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems. The Financial Analyst role sits at the center of our financing activity - supporting debt and tax equity execution, M&A underwriting, and portfolio reporting. You'll work across development, construction, legal, and finance to move projects from initial development and due diligence through financing and handoff to internal accounting and asset management teams. This role is a critical role for Kearsarge’s continuing growth and expansion into other areas such as batteries.

Financing

  • Prepare marketing, teaser, and pipeline materials for debt and tax equity partners
  • Build and manage data rooms; track diligence requests and coordinate responses across internal teams and counsel
  • Partner with development and construction teams to track project status and the execution of key project documents
  • Own project-attribute data integrity in Folio (an AI-powered project management / CRM tool), ensuring stored values reconcile to source documents before they reach financing partners
  • Maintain project and financing models

Acquisitions / RFPs

  • Help build process to assess, and analyze potential projects both in development and operating assets
  • Track potential targets and prepare weekly updates for the investment committee
  • Build a database to compare prior returns to actual to understand performance
  • Assist and eventually own financial modeling
  • Run due diligence for each project including development assumptions for both acquisitions and RFPs using experts and internal resources

Portfolio Management / Analysis

  • Track project milestones, deliverables, and financing conditions across the portfolio
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external counterparties to resolve open items and keep fundings on schedule
  • Maintain project-level data and reporting used for financing, investment, and portfolio management

What we're looking for

  • 1 - 3 years in project finance, investment or commercial banking, renewable energy, infrastructure, or a related field
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with comfort building and auditing cash-flow and returns models
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate contract terms into financing implications
  • Someone driven to learn and excel in a fast moving and demanding environment
  • Advanced Excel; proficiency across Microsoft Office
  • Ownership mentality and effective cross-functional collaboration
  • Genuine interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, and project finance
