Experienced Night Cook / Short Order Cook

Club 390 – South Suburban Chicago
$21–$23 per hour, based on experience
Primarily night shifts | Full-time and part-time opportunities

Club 390 is seeking a dependable, experienced Night Cook / Short Order Cook to join our team.

Our kitchen prepares made-to-order menu items including burgers, chicken breast, salmon, wings, fried foods, sandwiches, salads and other casual dining items. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, can handle multiple orders during busy periods, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized and properly stocked work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook all menu items accurately and consistently.
  • Operate commercial grills, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
  • Prepare burgers, chicken, salmon, wings, fried foods, sandwiches, salads and related menu items.
  • Complete required food preparation before and during the shift.
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, food storage and food-safety standards.
  • Keep kitchen equipment, preparation areas and work surfaces clean and sanitary.
  • Wash and properly store cooking utensils, dishes and equipment as required.
  • Stock kitchen and beverage coolers as assigned.
  • Replenish products and supplies needed for continued Club operations.
  • Remove garbage and properly dispose of waste throughout and at the end of the shift.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen, storage and other assigned work areas.
  • Complete assigned cleaning and closing responsibilities.
  • Assist with limited bar-support duties when necessary to help maintain smooth Club operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned kitchen and support areas.
  • Follow Club 390 sanitation, safety and food-handling procedures.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.

Weekday Shift Responsibilities

During weekday shifts, cooks may also be responsible for additional operational duties when business volume permits, including:

  • Stocking coolers and replenishing beverages and supplies.
  • Removing garbage from assigned areas.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and support areas.
  • Sweeping, mopping and maintaining floors.
  • Organizing storage and work areas.
  • Assisting with dishes, equipment cleaning and other routine closing duties.
  • Performing other reasonable cleaning, stocking and support responsibilities necessary to maintain Club operations.

Kitchen duties and guest food orders remain a priority whenever the kitchen is open.

Qualifications

  • Previous short-order, line-cook, grill-cook or similar restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating commercial grills and fryers.
  • Ability to handle multiple food orders accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to perform stocking, cleaning and general support responsibilities in addition to cooking duties.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong cleanliness, organization and food-safety habits.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Illinois Food Handler certification or ability to obtain required certification.
  • Must be comfortable working professionally in an upscale gentlemen's club environment.
  • Night and weekend availability is required.

Compensation

$21–$23 per hour, depending on experience, availability and demonstrated ability.

Compensation may be reviewed following the introductory period based on attendance, dependability, job performance and ability to independently handle assigned cooking, stocking, cleaning and closing responsibilities.

Schedule:

We are primarily hiring for night shifts.

Applicants should clearly indicate their availability, including the specific weekdays and weekends they are available to work.
