Job Description

This role focuses on executing thermal spray coatings on gas turbine components in accordance with precise technical specifications. You will program and operate thermal spray equipment, prepare components and tooling, perform inspections and measurements, and ensure all work meets strict quality and Environmental Health and Safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute thermal spray coating on gas turbine components according to required technical specifications.
  • Carry out tests and trial coatings to support process development, implementation, and stability testing.
  • Program thermal spray equipment to meet coating requirements and production schedules.
  • Prepare components and equipment prior to processing, including blasting and masking as needed.
  • Perform visual inspection and measurement of coating parameters to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Remove coating overspray and masking residues to ensure clean and accurate finished components.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work before confirming each operation step.
  • Report technical deviations through the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system and support corrective actions.
  • Prepare and confirm required quality documentation for all completed work.
  • Report and monitor production time used per operation step to support accurate time keeping and productivity tracking.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and tools to maintain reliable operation.
  • Keep the working environment, machines, and tools in clean, orderly, and proper condition.
  • Follow Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Handle waste in accordance with EHS procedures and legal requirements, including segregating waste, placing hazardous and non-hazardous waste in appropriate containers, maintaining containers closed and in good condition, labeling containers correctly, and marking accumulation dates for hazardous waste.
  • Arrange internal waste transfer from satellite accumulation areas to central accumulation areas.
  • Contain and clean up incidental spills in the work area in line with EHS procedures.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve operations, processes, and the working environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of experience operating thermal spray equipment (for example, GTV or similar systems).
  • Alternatively, at least 2 years of experience operating and/or programming CNC equipment or production robots.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience reading and interpreting work instructions and coating specifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience handling installation fixtures and measurement equipment required for production operations.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a production environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes in an industrial setting.
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office programs for documentation and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP and time keeping applications for production tracking.
  • Hands-on skills in brazing, coating, heat treating, and general production processes.
  • Experience with machine operation and machine operating in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to program and adjust thermal spray equipment settings to meet detailed coating specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail in visual inspection and measurement of coating parameters.
  • Comfort working with installation fixtures, measurement tools, and production machinery.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and technical specifications accurately.
  • Capability to document work clearly and maintain accurate quality records.
  • Basic familiarity with non-conformance reporting processes and quality systems.
  • Willingness to perform routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Commitment to Environmental Health and Safety procedures, including proper waste handling and spill response.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This role takes place in a hands-on industrial production environment that involves frequent physical activity and the use of specialized equipment. You will regularly stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach, stand for sustained periods, walk long distances between work areas, and perform pushing and pulling tasks. The position requires lifting objects up to 50 lbs and frequent grasping and repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Close visual acuity is essential for visual inspection of small parts and defects, operating machines, using measurement devices, and working at a computer terminal for data entry and documentation. The environment includes significant ambient noise, at times requiring you to raise your voice to be heard. You must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific tasks, such as respirators, Tyvek suits, gloves, face shields, and other safety gear, in accordance with Environmental Health and Safety procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
