The Welding Quality Control Inspector will support pressure vessel and piping projects by verifying weld quality, materials, and compliance with AWS, ASME, API, and other applicable industry standards. As a CWI-certified Welding Inspector reporting to project, operations, quality, or welding engineering leadership, this role will maintain accurate inspection records using paper-based documentation, quality management software, and enterprise resource planning systems. This position requires no travel. CWI credentials are a big plus for top pay.
Responsibilities
- Perform weld inspections and visual examinations on pressure vessel and piping projects.
- Conduct or support nondestructive testing activities.
- Verify materials against project requirements and applicable documentation.
- Identify weld defects and assess conformance with applicable standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate weld inspection documentation.
- Record and track inspection results using paper-based records, quality management software, and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Prepare inspection reports for project and quality stakeholders.
- Apply AWS, ASME, API, and other relevant industry standards during inspection activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six or more years of welding quality inspection experience.
- Associate degree in welding technology, quality assurance, or a related field.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Knowledge of welding inspection, visual testing, and nondestructive testing.
- Knowledge of welding codes and standards.
- Experience with inspection documentation.
