Job Description
Our dealership's service department is looking for a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Automotive Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of customer and dealership vehicles. We are a process-driven team that values quality craftsmanship, efficiency, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnostics on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models to identify common and complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems.
- Execute high-quality repairs and routine maintenance tasks, including engine, transmission, brake system, suspension, alignment, and climate control work.
- Road-test vehicles before and after repairs to verify performance, safety, and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with dealership standards.
- Document detailed and clear records of diagnostics performed, parts required, and repair work completed.
- Collaborate effectively with service advisors and parts team members to ensure efficient shop workflow and timely vehicle turnaround.
Position Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional automotive repair experience in a commercial shop or dealership environment.
- Tools:Must possess your own comprehensive set of tools appropriate for professional automotive service and repair (the dealership provides heavy shop equipment, lifts, and specialized diagnostic scanners).
- Diagnostic Skills: Strong proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing common mechanical failures and warning lights.
- License: Must hold a valid Driver's License with a clean, insurable driving record.
- Attributes: Accountable, process-oriented work ethic, strong problem-solving skills, and physical stamina for standard continuous shop work.
Schedule & Employment Terms
- Standard Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Overtime: Occasional half-day Saturday shifts may be required depending on shop volume and business needs.
- Probationary Period: This position includes a standard 90-day introductory/probationary period to assess fit, alignment, and technical proficiency.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour, precisely scaled based on your documented experience, certifications (such as ASE), and diagnostic capabilities.
