As a Software Test Engineer at S5 Analytics, you will be an integral part of our team, developing a strong system-level understanding of the customer's software and how it is used from an end-user perspective. You will write and execute automated front-end regression tests, develop and perform manual regression testing procedures, and document test performance, software defects, and design inefficiencies.

You will work closely with developers to create realistic and effective testing scenarios, bringing an understanding of what makes a strong test and how testing can best support the development team throughout the software lifecycle. This role requires developer-level coding and/or scripting skills in JavaScript, Bash, Python, and YAML, with the ability to apply those skills to test automation, troubleshooting, and overall system validation.

You will demonstrate a high level of self-initiative, technical curiosity, and ownership in your work, with the ability to independently build system knowledge, identify potential issues, and serve as a reliable partner to the development team.

This position is full time and on-site in the Denver area.

Required Skills:

• Current TS/SCI Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship – with the ability to pass a Polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Master's with 2–6 years of relevant experience
• 6+ years of software test engineering or quality engineering experience, preferably supporting government, DoD, or Intelligence Community programs
• Experience developing and executing manual and automated tests, including functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing
• Experience with front-end, back-end, and API testing, using automation frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Postman, REST Assured, or similar
• Developer-level coding and/or scripting skills using JavaScript, Python, Bash, and/or YAML
• Strong system-level understanding with the ability to troubleshoot applications across the UI, services, APIs, data, and supporting infrastructure
• Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects, test results, risks, and coverage needs through resolution
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and incorporating automated testing into software build and deployment workflows
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to evaluate functionality, performance, reliability, security, and usability
• Experience working within Agile development teams and collaborating closely with developers, system engineers, testers, and integration/operations teams
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical issues, test results, and recommendations
• Self-motivated with a focus on improving test effectiveness, automation, and overall coverage
• Security+ Certification, or ability to obtain within the first six months of employment

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar development and CI/CD tools
• Experience with performance/load testing and tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
• Familiarity with DevSecOps and automated quality practices
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, or other document-oriented/search data platforms
• Experience with GIS, GEOINT data, or OGC WMS/WFS
• Comfortable working in Linux and Windows environments
• Testing/quality certifications such as ISTQB, CAST, CSTE, or similar

The base salary range for this position is $101,300 - $181,140 annually, based on full-time employment in the Denver, Colorado area. The final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, education, and market conditions.
