SUMMARY

As Controller, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial insight to support critical business decisions while ensuring GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) compliance. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and CEO, with regular intercompany interaction at all other levels of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs cost analysis and general cost accounting activities.
• Reviews and posts daily manufacturing accounting entries.
• Analyzes and interprets financial data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Prepares accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conducts cash flow analysis and monitors cash flow projections.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
• Prepares daily operating performance analysis, including inventory movement, sales, and cost of goods sold.
• Conducts financial analysis, including ROI summarization to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
• Participates in the development and implementation of cost management strategies.
• Processes CAPEX requests, tracks spend, and manages fixed assets system.
• Performs annual cost and inventory revaluation; assumes ownership of purchasing function to ensure accuracy of cost components.
• Performs appropriate payroll tax calculations, filings, and final review prior to disbursement.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years of experience in cost-focused accounting, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial services or production environment.

• Strong working knowledge of cost accounting methods, inventory accounting, general ledger activity, and financial reporting.

• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, monthly close activities, and detailed financial analysis.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks and comfort working with financial data systems and reporting tools.

• Ability to gather, interpret, and validate financial and operational data with strong attention to detail.

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Clear communication skills with the ability to present financial information to a range of business audiences.
