Job Overview The Accounting Controller will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls across several service-based businesses. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations for multiple companies
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
- Consolidate financial statements across entities
- Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Work with external tax advisors as needed
- Supervise accounting staff and support ongoing development
- Implement process improvements and financial systems enhancements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and support strategic decision-making
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the service related industry
- Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity financial management
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a controller or senior accountant role supporting executive leadership is a plus
