Transportation Planner

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily packaged truck deliveries
• Track and trace shipments, with a focus on packaged truck deliveries for starches, sweeteners, and texturizers
• Coordinate with carriers, plants, warehouses, and shipping locations to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
• Communicate transportation issues, delivery updates, delays, and potential risks to internal stakeholders and carriers
• Manage carrier utilization and scheduling while monitoring transportation cost and service performance
• Work with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Transportation teams to understand delivery requirements and make best-value transportation decisions
• Support transportation sourcing strategies by tendering and managing orders in SAP using tiered carrier rankings
• Manage day-to-day orders from assigned plants and public warehouses
• Build loads and monitor unrouted orders
• Coordinate shipment and delivery dates and manage customer add-ons, changed loads, and broken loads
• Log and approve carrier-invoiced transportation costs
• Monitor key integrated business planning and cost-to-serve performance indicators
• Handle routine transportation issues under direct supervision and escalate complex issues to appropriate team members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
