As a Technical Sales Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing innovative automation solutions tailored to customer needs. You'll combine your technical expertise, creativity, and customer-focused approach to develop concepts that solve complex manufacturing challenges.
You'll work with cutting-edge automation technologies, including robotics, AMRs, conveyors, and custom automated systems, while collaborating with customers, sales, engineering, and management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand their applications, challenges, and automation requirements.
- Develop conceptual solutions for custom automation systems using robotics, AMRs, conveyors, and other automation technologies.
- Create and present automation concepts and proposals, clearly communicating the value and competitive advantages of each solution.
- Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and management teams to ensure proposed solutions align with customer requirements and project objectives.
- Support the quoting process by developing feasible concepts, determining equipment requirements, and assisting with project costs.
- Research new technologies and automation approaches to identify innovative solutions for customer applications.
- Participate in customer presentations, site visits, and technical discussions throughout the sales and project-development process.
- Continue expanding your technical expertise through hands-on experience and industry-led training.
Qualifications
- Experience with quoting, sales support, and direct customer interaction is required.
- Bachelor's degree in MechanicalEngineeringpreferred; related degree or equivalent experience will be considered
- Strong 3D CAD proficiency with software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Experience developing mechanical concepts and layouts using 3D CAD software.
- Experience with simulation software such as SolidWorks Simulation, MotoSim, RoboDK, RoboGuide, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.
- A creative, problem-solving mindset and genuine interest in automation technology.
Travel
- Up to 20% travel, primarily for customer visits, presentations, site evaluations, and project-related activities.
