Implementation Lead, Client Onboarding and Data Migration
Are you a hands-on technologist who would rather own the hardest client projects than hand them off? Do you want a small team around you and real control over how onboarding and implementation actually work, from a short customer training through a large custom implementation? Do you want to work in an entrepreneurial environment that is flexible and focused on results? If so, we might have the perfect opportunity for you!
Crelate, a fast-growing startup with over 1,500 customers, is seeking an Implementation Lead to join our growing team. Nearly every client who comes to us arrives carrying years of data in another system, and how well that data lands decides whether they ever really adopt the product. This is a builder's seat, not a management seat. You will personally own our most technically complex implementations, and you will lead a small team that shapes the whole onboarding journey with you.
Crelate's mission is to help more people, connect with better opportunities, more often. To do this, we are building the fastest, easiest, and most flexible recruiting and talent engagement software on the market, and we need your help to get the word out!
Key Responsibilities:
Own the complex, heavily customized migrations from discovery through final approval, including staging, QA against the mapped requirements, client revisions, and the final sign off that says the migration is complete and correct.
Shape the onboarding and implementation journey end to end, from short customer trainings through large custom implementations, defining the stages, the gates and the handoffs and then getting the team running against them.
Lead a small team of implementation consultants, working the hard problems alongside them rather than taking the problems away, so complex work stops routing to one person.
Run data discovery with new clients: get into their current system, understand how they actually use it as opposed to how it was designed, and turn that into requirements the client agrees to and we can deliver against.
Lead customer data review meetings, explain trade-offs to people who are not technical, and hold a line on scope without damaging the relationship.
Be the escalation point when a migration will not behave or a client relationship is going sideways, and know when to pull in engineering.
Own scoping accuracy: size projects before they are sold, and own the conversation with sales when the estimate and the sold scope disagree.
Plan capacity across the team, decide who takes what, and flag early when the plan and the pipeline do not agree.
Work directly with our developers on migration tooling, bringing the field evidence that decides what gets built to remove manual work.
Participate in the daily standup, drive your projects to done, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Skills & Experience:
5+ years implementing or migrating clients onto a CRM, ATS, HRIS or comparable system of record, on the vendor side.
A leader on an implementation, onboarding or professional services team. You may have managed one formally, or you may simply be the person your team already turns to and are ready to step into leading a small one.
SQL fundamentals. You can query a dataset yourself, find the records that will not map, and explain why.
Real data mapping across systems with different schemas, not just import templates.
Requirements gathering directly with clients, including hearing what they need underneath what they asked for.
Data validation and QA discipline. You check before you sign off, and you have a method for it rather than a habit.
Strong client communication. Comfortable running the meeting, delivering hard news, and holding a date without overpromising.
Strong AI skills. Put AI to work to accelerate time to value and the impact you can have, while being 100% responsible for the output.
Desired Experience:
Staffing, recruiting or executive search industry experience. You know what a submittal, a placement and a hot list are.
Experience with the systems our clients are leaving: Bullhorn, PCRecruiter, JobDiva, Loxo, Avionte or similar.
Scripting for data transformation, Python or equivalent.
A track record of building capability in other people, with a specific example of someone who could do more because of you.
Experience taking an implementation methodology from definition through adoption, including the part where people resist it.
Bachelors degree or a comparable track record demonstrating ability is a plus.
We can offer you:
