Job Description
JADE Consulting, LLC is seeking a motivated Construction Project Inspector to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of civil construction projects, including roadways, utilities, drainage, site development, and infrastructure improvements.
The selected candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to monitor construction activities, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and document project progress from construction through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site construction inspections to monitor contractor work and project progress.
- Observe and document construction activities to ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Inspect roadway, drainage, utility, grading, concrete, and site development construction.
- Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, photographs, field notes, and project documentation.
- Verify quantities of materials and completed work for contractor pay applications.
- Monitor construction materials and workmanship for compliance with project requirements.
- Communicate with contractors, project managers, engineers, and regulatory agencies regarding project progress and construction issues.
- Identify and report deficiencies, conflicts, and potential construction issues and assist with resolving them.
- Attend and participate in construction meetings and project coordination meetings.
- Review plans and specifications and assist with interpreting construction requirements in the field.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final inspections.
- Travel to various project sites as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in construction, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of construction inspection or related field experience preferred.
- Experience with civil construction, roadway, drainage, utilities, or site development preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and details.
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project documentation.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with contractors and project team members.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Must be able to work outdoors and visit active construction sites.
- Valid driver’s license required.
