Position Summary
The Warehouse AssociateI is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders;receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material; and maintaining the branchwarehouse environment and equipment. This position performs warehouse transactionsin accordance with company standards for safety, security, accuracy, andproductivity.
EssentialResponsibilities
Contribute to a culturefocused on employee safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
Follow establishedStandard Operating Procedures and Environmental Health and Safety rules.
Immediately report andaddress safety concerns.
Receive materialdelivered by vendors, customers, or other warehouses.
Verify the quantity anddescription of received materials by comparing merchandise against the packinglist.
Stock incoming ordersin an orderly manner on shelves and in designated areas.
Report freight damageclaims.
Prepare branch ordersfrom the warehouse.
Verify that the correctquantity and type of product are prepared for shipment.
Process shipmentpaperwork, including:
Verifying merchandiseto be shipped.
Applying the correctpostage, tape, and labels.
Following customershipping instructions.
Insuring shipments whennecessary.
Operate warehouseequipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, and wire-cutting machines, whenrequired.
Load common carrier andcompany vehicles.
Inspect equipment andperform minor maintenance as needed.
Perform inventorycounts and reconcile discrepancies.
Support other branchfunctions, including counter sales and customer support, as needed.
Perform other duties asassigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience
No prior experiencerequired.
Prior warehouseexperience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, andAbilities
General knowledge ofelectrical products preferred.
Ability to communicateeffectively with coworkers and customers.
Ability to addressbasic issues and problems.
Ability to performbasic mathematical calculations accurately.
Ability to organize andprioritize job tasks and requirements.
Excellentorganizational and time-management skills.
Ability to meetdeadlines.
Ability to workovertime as needed.
Basic computer skills.
