Position Summary

HireQuest Direct Bellingham is hiring dependable Fish Processors / Production Workers for local seafood-processing opportunities.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced fish and seafood processing environment. Depending on the assignment, employees may work in fish processing, production, packaging, warehouse, or material-handling areas.

Previous experience is helpful, but not required. We're looking for reliable people who are ready to work, learn, and be part of a team.

What You'll Do

Depending on your assigned position, responsibilities may include:

  • Work safely and efficiently on a production or packaging line.
  • Handle, sort, inspect, package, repack, and label seafood and other food products.
  • Place finished products into boxes, cases, totes, or other packaging.
  • Inspect products and packaging for quality, damage, contamination, or defects.
  • Assemble boxes and packaging materials.
  • Stack finished cases and prepare products for palletizing or shipment.
  • Maintain required production speeds and quality standards.
  • Keep work areas clean and sanitary.
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, GMP, PPE, and workplace-safety procedures.
  • Follow instructions from leads and supervisors and move between production tasks as needed.
  • Immediately report safety, food-quality, equipment, or product concerns.

  • Able to maintain a steady production pace while meeting quality standards.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive production work.
  • Able to follow written, verbal, visual, or demonstrated instructions.
  • Safety-conscious and willing to follow food-safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Willing to work as part of a team and assist in different areas as needed.

Previous food processing, seafood processing, production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but is not required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

  • Standing and/or walking for the majority of the scheduled shift.
  • Performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements.
  • Bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping.
  • Safely lifting and moving up to 50 pounds when required by the assignment.
  • Working in refrigerated, cold, or freezer areas.
  • Wearing required PPE and food-production protective equipment.
  • Identifying and appropriately responding to safety signs, alarms, product labels, and workplace hazards.
  • Maintaining required production, quality, food-safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Working the entire scheduled shift, including required overtime when scheduled.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Some assignments or equipment may require employees to be at least 18 years old.
