Robotics Engineer

Cullerton Group is seeking a Controls Engineer - Robotics & Automation to support advanced manufacturing automation and robotic systems at a customer facility in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.

This is an on-site contract opportunity, and we are looking for someone who can start ASAP. The role is open to both W2 and C2C candidates.

This is a hands-on role focused on FANUC robotics, robotic vision, controls integration, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting within an automotive manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have direct General Motors manufacturing experience, current GM GRS certification, and hands-on experience with FANUC CRX collaborative robots and FANUC 3D Vision / 3DV.

What You’ll Do

• Program, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize FANUC robotic systems
• Support FANUC CRX collaborative robot applications
• Configure and troubleshoot FANUC 3D Vision / 3DV systems
• Support robotic integration, installation, startup, commissioning, and production launch
• Program robot paths, positions, frames, TCPs, and payloads
• Troubleshoot robot I/O, sensors, communications, safety systems, PLC interfaces, and peripheral equipment
• Perform robot calibration, mastering, touch-ups, recovery, and cycle optimization
• Diagnose automation issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Work with controls, robotics, manufacturing, maintenance, and integration teams

What We’re Looking For

• Current GM GRS certification
• Hands-on robotics/automation experience within a General Motors manufacturing facility
• Strong FANUC robot programming and troubleshooting experience
• Hands-on FANUC CRX collaborative robot experience
• Hands-on FANUC 3D Vision / 3DV experience
• Robotic startup, commissioning, debugging, and production support experience
• Strong knowledge of robot I/O, communications, sensors, safety systems, and PLC interfaces
• Ability to read electrical schematics and controls documentation
• Ability to work onsite in Whitmore Lake, MI

Preferred Experience

FANUC DCS, iRVision, RoboGuide, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, GM GCCS/GCCH, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, and automotive automation experience.
