Summary of the Role:

BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Controls and Validation Engineer to join our client’s site in Irvine, CA. This role will support control systems and building management systems in a regulated environment, from troubleshooting and programming through qualification and documentation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical troubleshooting, automation, commissioning, and validation experience.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program, troubleshoot, and support Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI systems.
• Work with AVEVA, Schneider EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO), and Vaisala systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues involving equipment up to 480 VAC, following applicable safety procedures.
• Plan and execute commissioning activities for equipment, controls, and related systems.
• Create, collaborate on, route for approval, and execute Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), and Software Validation (SWV) protocols.
• Document test results, investigate discrepancies, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and complete validation deliverables.
• Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to support reliable system performance.

Main Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years of related experience. Previous experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial controls, electrical systems, and validation.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programming software.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues involving systems up to 480 VAC.
• Solid understanding of commissioning, IQ/OQ/PQ, and software validation activities.
• Strong technical writing, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AVEVA.
• Familiarity with Schneider EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) building management systems.
• Familiarity with Vaisala.
