Platform Architect

We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect to define and drive the technical vision for a modern cloud-native platform supporting multiple products and engineering teams. This individual will play a key role in establishing architectural standards, guiding platform strategy, and enabling teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available applications.

• Define and evolve enterprise platform architecture
• Design cloud-native solutions using microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures
• Establish technical standards, best practices, and reference architectures
• Lead platform modernization initiatives and cloud adoption efforts
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership on major initiatives
• Design reusable platform services, developer tooling, and shared frameworks
• Drive observability, reliability, scalability, and security best practices
• Mentor engineers and help shape technical roadmaps
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled platform capabilities

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, or architecture experience
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud-native platforms
• Strong expertise in:
  • Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Kubernetes and containerized applications
  • Microservices Architecture
  • Distributed Systems
  • API Design and Integration
  • Event-Driven Architecture
  • CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Secure application design
• Experience building scalable, reliable, and highly available systems
• Strong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Hands-on development experience with technologies such as Java, Python, C#, Go, or TypeScript

• Experience in SaaS or healthcare technology environments
• Experience with platform modernization or large-scale cloud migration efforts
• Knowledge of service mesh, event streaming, and observability platforms
• Experience designing enterprise data platforms
• Experience evaluating or implementing AI and LLM-powered platform capabilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
