Quality Inspector

The Mechanical Quality Inspector performs detailed in-process inspections on mechanical assemblies, basic wiring, and fabricated components to ensure they meet established drawings, procedures, and quality standards. This role focuses on verifying mechanical assembly work, conducting dimensional and visual inspections, documenting non-conformances, and supporting the full quality event lifecycle from inspection through data entry and reporting.

• Verify mechanical assemblies prior to final quality verification, confirming completion of all torque checks and ensuring red paint line marks from Mechanical Assembly Technicians and green paint line marks from Mechanical Assembly Leads or Supervisors are correctly applied.
• Confirm completion of wire-pull tests and ensure all terminals are properly crimped and fully seated in accordance with mechanical and electrical specifications.
• Perform visual verification of mimic bus installation and confirm correct placement of assembled and painted components within cabinets and related equipment.
• Conduct in-process inspection of fabricated components and painted parts, including dimensional checks using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Assess fit and general alignment of assemblies and fabricated parts to ensure they conform to mechanical drawings, fabrication specifications, and quality standards.
• Perform visual inspection of welds in cabinets, identifying visible defects and ensuring welds meet specified criteria and standards.
• Identify visible defects in components and assemblies based on drawings, procedures, and established quality standards.
• Document all identified non-conformances accurately and completely in the appropriate ERP/Quality system and escalate issues according to established quality procedures.
• Manage the quality event lifecycle from initial inspection through data entry, reporting, and support of warranty claim documentation and ENCMR processes.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and fabrication specifications to guide inspection activities and verify that assemblies and components meet design requirements.
• Use ERP/Quality systems such as SAP or similar platforms to record inspection results, support warranty claims, and complete required quality documentation.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to communicate inspection findings clearly, support corrective actions, and maintain consistent quality standards.
• Perform visual inspections with a high level of attention to detail, identifying subtle surface defects and dimensional discrepancies.
• Support production by performing timely quality checks on mechanical assemblies, basic wiring, and fabricated components to minimize rework and maintain workflow.

• Proven experience performing mechanical and fabrication inspections, including dimensional checks, visual inspections, and quality verification activities.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical drawings and fabrication specifications to assess conformity of assemblies and components.
• Hands-on experience with inspection and quality control processes in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform precise dimensional measurements and identify subtle surface defects and non-conformances.
• Ability to document non-conformances clearly and escalate issues in line with established quality procedures and standards.
• Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers for accurate dimensional verification.
• Authorization and capability to perform in-process inspection activities supporting mechanical assembly, basic wiring, and fabricated components.
• Experience in quality inspection, quality control, and quality assurance within a fabrication or assembly setting.
• Ability to conduct visual inspection of welds, painted parts, and assembled components to identify visible defects.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with production and quality teams and report inspection results effectively.

• Proven experience with ERP/Quality systems such as SAP or similar platforms, particularly for warranty claims and ENCMR documentation.
• Ability to manage the full quality event lifecycle, from inspection through data entry, reporting, and support of warranty claim documentation.
• Strong background in electrical and mechanical fabrication and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support documentation, reporting, and data entry tasks.
• Experience supporting production environments with quality checks and visual inspections.
• Familiarity with quality inspection practices for mimic bus installations, mechanical assemblies, and painted components.
• Comfort working with established drawings, procedures, and quality standards to guide inspection activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a climate-controlled production environment with structured hours and established quality protocols.

This role is based in a climate-controlled production facility that focuses on mechanical assembly, basic wiring, and fabricated components. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule. The environment uses inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers, along with ERP/Quality systems like SAP, to support documentation and warranty processes. A full benefits package is available when brought on direct, and employees receive an annual steel-toe boot allowance to support appropriate safety footwear in the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BROKEN ARROW, OK.

The pay range for this position is $19.55 - $22.00/hr.
