We are seeking a Truck Dispatcher to support local and over-the-road drivers handling intermodal, dry van, and multiple freight categories. Reporting to the General Manager, this role manages dedicated driver assignments, spot-market load sourcing, and customer-specific scheduling while coordinating reliable, efficient freight movement. This position offers a growth and a stable opportunity .Very fast paced at times and must perform under pressure . We are a growing company with growing list of customers whom we must service.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch local and OTR drivers and manage dedicated assignments.
- Source and coordinate spot-market loads across multiple freight categories.
- Plan efficient routes and coordinate customer-specific schedules.
- Track freight and drivers using load boards, GPS tracking, and transportation management systems.
- Schedule pickup and delivery appointments and maintain clear customer communication.
- Coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Monitor driver hours and support Hours-of-Service compliance.
- Maintain dispatch and freight documentation, assist with invoicing, and resolve operational issues.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in truck dispatching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postsecondary coursework in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems, load boards, GPS tracking, and route planning.
- Knowledge of Hours-of-Service compliance, intermodal logistics, and freight documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team communication skills.
