About This RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team in Vancouver, WA in a dual role as an Early Learning Support Teacher and Kitchen Care assistant. In this position, you will play a vital part in our center’s daily operations by supporting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing educational environment while also ensuring our students receive nutritious, safely prepared meals. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
What You'll Do- Helping prepare and serve meals and snacks
- Caring for the kitchen, dishes, laundry, and shared spaces
- Joining children and teachers in play, outdoor time, and daily routines
- Supporting children with transitions and offering a calm, attentive presence
- Working with a close knit team to keep the day running smoothly
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare facility or school setting.
- Current Washington State Food Worker Card (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Ability to pass a portable background check through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
Nice To Haves- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or initial Washington State ECE Certificate.
- Previous experience in commercial food preparation or school kitchen settings.
- Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
