The Senior Accountant, FP&A & Automation combines advanced accounting responsibilities with financial planning and analysis, management reporting, forecasting, data analysis, and process automation.
The position supports the Controller in maintaining a timely and accurate close while providing the CFO and operational leaders with forward-looking financial information.
Unlike a traditional senior accountant focused primarily on transaction processing and historical reporting, this position is expected to actively improve processes, develop analytical tools, work with Sage Intacct and other data sources, and use approved automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual work and improve financial decision support.
Principal Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain assigned balance-sheet schedules and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end close requirements.
- Investigate accounting discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Provide cross-training and backup for critical accounting processes.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual and forecast variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain a 3–5-year projection plan.
- Develop service-line, departmental, and program-level financial analysis.
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting.
- Develop rolling forecasts and financial models.
- Support cash-flow forecasting and liquidity analysis.
- Identify trends, financial risks, and opportunities requiring management attention.
- Work with department leaders to improve understanding of financial performance.
- Develop recurring financial dashboards and management reports.
- Improve reporting from Sage Intacct using dimensions and other analytical tools.
- Reduce dependence on manually maintained spreadsheets where system-based reporting is practical.
- Develop consistent KPI definitions and supporting financial data.
Automation and Process Improvement
- Identify repetitive Finance processes suitable for workflow automation.
- Develop and maintain approved automated reporting, reconciliation, data-analysis, and FP&A processes.
- Support approved generative-AI and agent-based Finance workflows under appropriate security and review controls.
- Document automated processes, controls, validation requirements, and human review points.
- Assist with Intacct configuration, testing, reporting, and post-implementation optimization.
- Support cost analysis, business cases, service-line analysis, productivity analysis, and other CFO initiatives.
- Assist with audit schedules, restricted-fund analysis, grants, and other complex accounting projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward a professional credential preferred.
- Generally 3–5+ years of progressive accounting or financial-analysis experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statements.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel and data-analysis capabilities.
- ERP experience required; Sage Intacct experience preferred.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in workflow automation, data tools, scripting, AI-enabled finance tools, or similar technologies.
- Strong communication, initiative, analytical judgment, and problem-solving skills.

The pay rate listed represents RVNAhealth's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting.
