The Store Manager will oversee daily operations for a department store, leading a small hourly team and driving sales, customer service, inventory accuracy, and financial performance. Reporting to the owner or general manager, this role offers an opportunity to progress toward a District Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day department store operations.
- Lead sales activities and support achievement of store performance goals.
- Oversee inventory control and maintain accurate merchandise levels.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and resolve customer concerns.
- Manage cash-handling processes and store cash controls.
- Prepare and review performance reports.
- Lead and support a small hourly team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail management experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and visual merchandising.
- Understanding of sales forecasting and loss prevention.
- Team leadership, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills.
