As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll provide individualized support to help the people we serve live safely and successfully in their homes and communities. You’ll assist with daily living activities, promote independence, provide guidance and supervision, and help ensure each individual’s health, safety, and well-being.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Assist with daily living activities, including meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and personal hygiene
• Support individuals in developing greater independence and maximizing their quality of life
• Provide supervision, guidance, verbal prompting, and physical assistance as needed for health and safety
• Transport and accompany individuals to community activities, appointments, events, restaurants, movies, festivals, and other activities of their choice
• Encourage individuals to develop relationships and become active members of their communities
• Assist with critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making related to personal health and safety
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, crisis situations, or potential crisis situations in accordance with RHD policies and procedures
• Provide supervision and guidance to help individuals build skills, confidence, and independence
• Document services, interactions, and activities according to organizational requirements
• Communicate consistently with individuals, supervisors, and Supported Living Coaches regarding health, safety, and support needs
• Report suspected abuse, neglect, mistreatment, or other incidents according to established procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold organizational values
• Support and supervise medication administration as required
• Complete MARs, service logs, data collection, and Electronic Health Records
• Provide trauma-informed, person-centered care
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent
•At least one year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, or childcare setting, or experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
• College, vocational, or technical training equal to30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or 720 classroom hours may substitute for the required experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Basic computer and internet literacy, including the ability to use email, electronic timekeeping systems, and programs necessary for documentation
• Ability to read, write, communicate, and complete required documentation in English
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Ability to successfully complete required state and federal background screenings
• Previous experience in human services
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or a related field
Part-Time
Candidates must be available for a combination of two weeknights per week plus Saturdays and Sundays.
Weeknights• 2 weeknights per week
• Approximately 6 to 7 hours per shift
• Typical hours may include 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Every Saturday and Sunday
• 8-hour shifts
• Start and end times will vary based on individual needs and may include both first- and second-shift hours
• Examples may include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Weekend availability is required for this position.
Physical Requirements• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
• Ability to safely support individuals with activities of daily living
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
