Job Description

We are seeking an experienced carpenter to join a construction team working on both commercial and residential projects. This role requires a detail-oriented, safety-focused professional who can perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, from rough framing to finish work. You will collaborate closely with project managers, foremen, and other tradespeople to deliver high-quality work that meets demanding standards and supports successful project completion.

Responsibilities

• Perform rough and finish carpentry, including steel stud and wood framing, drywall installation, trim work, and cabinetry.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan and execute work accurately.
• Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, drywall, and other building products using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Install structures and fixtures including windows, doors, flooring, and hardware to meet project and quality requirements.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company and jobsite procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and team members to maintain project timelines, productivity, and quality standards.
• Follow all company and jobsite safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Assist with site preparation, cleanup, and material handling as needed to keep the jobsite organized and efficient.
• Support concrete work and other construction tasks when needed to contribute to overall project success.

Essential Skills

• 23+ years of professional carpentry experience in construction environments.
• Hands-on experience with steel stud or wood framing on commercial or residential projects.
• Ability to perform both rough and finish carpentry, including framing, drywall, and trim work.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and project specifications.
• Strong skills in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, drywall, and other building materials.
• Safe and efficient operation of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation to reach various jobsites.
• Ability to work consistently outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Work Environment

The role is based on active construction jobsites, with crews typically ranging from 2 to 5 people. You will work a daytime schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with 4550 hours per week common during the summer months. The environment involves a variety of projects and responsibilities, offering exposure to different types of commercial and residential work. You must be comfortable working outside in the elements all day, including heat, cold, and rain, and adhering to any site-specific dress code and safety gear requirements. This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Madison,WI.
