Medical Device Assembler – Cardiovascular Manufacturing

Pay: $18.52/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 PM–3:30 AM
Shift: 2nd Shift / Evening-Night
Experience: 2+ years of assembly or manufacturing experience required

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Device Assembler to join a manufacturing team producing high-quality cardiovascular medical devices. This position requires previous assembly experience and involves detailed hands-on work within a manufacturing cell.

The Medical Device Assembler will perform precision assembly, equipment operation, inspection, testing, repair, and packaging of medical devices and related components according to documented procedures. Depending on the assigned work area, employees may work in a controlled cleanroom environment and use microscopes, hand tools, syringes, razor blades, soldering equipment, adhesives, and other specialized manufacturing equipment.

This is a detail-oriented role where product quality, documentation accuracy, component traceability, and adherence to established procedures are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble cardiovascular medical devices and related components according to documented manufacturing procedures and work instructions.
• Perform detailed electronic, mechanical, casting/coating, and packaging operations depending on the assigned manufacturing cell.
• Operate various equipment and machinery used in the production of medical devices.
• Use microscopes, hand tools, syringes, razor blades, soldering equipment, adhesives, and other specialized tools as required.
• Perform adhesive bonding, soldering, mechanical assembly, and other precision manufacturing processes as assigned.
• Clean tools and equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform visual inspections and precision measurements on components and completed assemblies.
• Conduct product testing using computerized test equipment and accurately document test results.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and correct devices or components using microscopes and applicable tools.
• Package completed devices while verifying that all required components are present and documentation is complete.
• Complete travelers, shop floor paperwork, quality records, and other manufacturing documentation accurately.
• Maintain product and component traceability and identify quality issues requiring additional review or disposition.
• Follow safety procedures and properly use required safety devices, PPE, and equipment.
• Properly dispose of hazardous waste materials in designated hazardous waste areas.
• Notify supervisors or leads when supplies or materials need replenishment or when production problems cannot be readily corrected.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives designed to improve production processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Support individual and manufacturing cell performance goals and metrics.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe manufacturing environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2+ years of previous assembly or manufacturing experience required.
• Experience with detailed or precision assembly is preferred.
• Previous medical device, electronics, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures and work instructions in English at approximately a 6th-grade level.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic math skills at approximately a 6th-grade level.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
• Ability to perform repetitive, detailed work while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Ability to prioritize work based on job requirements, timing, and importance.
• Ability to make appropriate decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following standardized procedures.

Work Environment

• Work is performed within a manufacturing cell and may include a controlled cleanroom environment, depending on the assigned area.
• Employees may work with small components requiring precision handling and visual inspection.
• Use of appropriate PPE, safety equipment, and established safety procedures is required.
• Position may involve standing, repetitive hand movements, and extended periods of detailed assembly work.

Ideal Candidate Experience

Candidates with experience as a Medical Device Assembler, Precision Assembler, Electronics Assembler, Mechanical Assembler, Manufacturing Assembler, Production Assembler, or Medical Device Technician may have relevant experience for this position.

Experience with microscope inspection, small-component assembly, soldering, adhesive bonding, precision measurements, computerized testing, cleanrooms, medical devices, or regulated manufacturing is especially relevant.
