Software Test Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Software Test Engineer to join our team, focusing on software verification and validation for advanced military ground vehicle systems. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive software test plans, automated test scripts, and validation procedures for embedded vehicle software.

• Design and maintain automated test frameworks.
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test environments.
• Conduct hands-on testing in laboratory and vehicle settings.
• Capture and analyze vehicle network communications.
• Troubleshoot software and system integration issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Support CI/CD integration and automated regression testing.
• Develop formal test documentation required for program milestones and government fielding activities.

• 5+ years of experience in Software Test Engineering, Software Quality Assurance, Embedded Software Development, or Systems Integration.
• Proficiency in automated test development using Python, PyTest, Robot Framework, TestStand, TestComplete, C/C++, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test environments.
• Knowledge of vehicle network communications (CAN, CAN-FD, J1939, Ethernet, TCP/IP, MIL-STD-1553).
• Experience using Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, dSPACE, National Instruments, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Hands-on experience with vehicle integration, troubleshooting, and validation testing.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated regression testing, and software verification & validation.
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies including unit, integration, functional, regression, performance, and acceptance testing.
• Experience creating test plans, test procedures, traceability matrices, and technical reports.
• Ability to diagnose hardware/software integration issues in lab and vehicle environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wire harness diagrams, and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Strong communication skills with technical and executive stakeholders.
• Military ground vehicle experience.
• Knowledge of VICTORY architecture standards.
• Embedded Linux experience.
• Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) experience.
• Experience supporting government witness testing.

The work environment is a hybrid mix of laboratory, vehicle integration, proving ground, and field test settings. You will support prototype and production military vehicle platforms and collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, systems engineers, and vehicle test teams. Occasional travel to test facilities and proving grounds may be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Troy, MI.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.11/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
