JOB SUMMARY
Performance One Security is seeking licensed, professional Armed Security Officers for multiple open positions across the DFW Metroplex. Assignments include vehicle patrol, foot patrol, and access control posts at commercial, industrial, and multi-site client locations. The ideal candidate provides a visible security presence, conducts thorough property inspections, controls entry to client facilities, and responds to security incidents while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Officers may be assigned to one duty type or a combination based on client needs and demonstrated capability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/Vehicle Patrol Duties
- Conduct scheduled vehicle patrols of multiple client properties following predetermined routes
- Perform exterior and interior security checks at each location as specified by client contracts
- Monitor and inspect perimeters, buildings, parking areas, and access points
- Verify security of doors, windows, gates, and alarm systems
- Document time of arrival/departure at each location with detailed logs
- Operate and maintain company patrol vehicles in accordance with company policy
Foot Patrol Duties
- Conduct regular walking patrols of assigned client property, including buildings, grounds, parking structures, and perimeter areas
- Complete patrol rounds on schedule using guard tour/checkpoint systems where required
- Inspect stairwells, corridors, loading docks, mechanical rooms, and other interior areas
- Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance issues, unsecured areas, and suspicious activity
- Provide escorts for employees, tenants, and visitors as requested
- Maintain high visibility to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other criminal activity
Access Control Duties
- Staff assigned entry points, gates, lobbies, or guard stations to control access to client facilities
- Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for all employees, contractors, visitors, and vehicles entering the property
- Issue and track visitor badges, maintain visitor logs, and enforce sign-in/sign-out procedures
- Monitor CCTV, alarm panels, and access control systems; report and respond to anomalies
- Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and packages per client protocols
- Deny entry to unauthorized individuals and manage confrontations professionally and within scope of authority
Security Operations (All Positions)
- Maintain constant vigilance for suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security breaches
- Respond immediately to alarms, emergency calls, and security incidents
- De-escalate conflicts and manage disturbances in accordance with training and company policy
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
- Carry and maintain firearms in accordance with company policies and Texas state law
Documentation & Reporting (All Positions)
- Complete detailed incident reports for all security-related events
- Maintain accurate patrol logs, post logs, and visitor records with timestamps
- Submit daily activity reports and client-specific documentation
- Photograph and document any property damage, safety hazards, or security concerns
- Communicate findings to supervisors and clients through written and verbal reports
Client Relations (All Positions)
- Maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times
- Interact courteously with clients, tenants, visitors, and the general public
- Follow specific client protocols and post orders for each location
- Serve as a positive representative of Performance One Security
- Address client concerns and requests within scope of authority
QUALIFICATIONS/Licensing & Certification
- Current Texas Level III or Level IV Security Officer License with firearm endorsement (required)
- Current Texas Driver's License with clean driving record (3 years) required for vehicle patrol positions
- High school diploma or GED required; additional security training or certifications preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years armed security or law enforcement experience
- Experience in mobile patrol, multi-site security, or access control operations preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively
- Proficiency with security equipment, radios, access control systems, and report writing systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining vigilant
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and communications
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Knowledge of basic emergency procedures and incident response protocols
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain mobile for extended periods, including full shifts on foot patrol or at fixed posts
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle for 8–12 hour shifts (vehicle patrol positions)
- Ability to remain alert and vigilant throughout entire shift
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to detect security concerns
- Ability to respond quickly to incidents, including running, lifting, and carrying objects
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions during exterior patrols and outdoor posts
WORK CONDITIONS
- Multiple positions available vehicle patrol, foot patrol, and access control assignments
- Various shifts available including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Work locations throughout the DFW Metroplex
- Duties conducted in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Required to carry and maintain firearms in accordance with company policies and state laws
