Job Description

The Software Engineer will design and develop high-performance software in both C++ and C# to support advanced graphics and workflow capabilities for complex products. This role focuses on mathematical, graphics-oriented development and robust application architecture, ensuring reliable data flow across multiple applications and services. The engineer will contribute to both core product functionality and supporting systems, with a strong emphasis on code quality, reliability, and validation through unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using approximately 50% C++ and 50% C# to support product graphics, workflow, and operability.
• Implement mathematically driven features and graphics-related functionality that enhance product performance and user experience.
• Develop and refine data flow across multiple applications and services, ensuring accurate, efficient, and secure movement of data.
• Create and maintain data flow diagrams and system interaction models to support clear, scalable application architecture.
• Design and implement application architectures that support complex system interactions and long-term product evolution.
• Write, maintain, and execute comprehensive unit tests to validate code behavior, improve reliability, and support continuous integration practices.
• Analyze and troubleshoot software issues related to data flow, system interactions, and application performance, providing timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and translate them into robust software designs.
• Ensure software solutions meet the stringent reliability and quality expectations typical of medical device and defense/aerospace environments.
• Continuously improve code quality, architecture, and testing practices by adopting best practices and modern development techniques.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing software in C++.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing software in C#.
• 5+ years of experience designing and managing data flow across applications and services.
• 5+ years of experience with application architecture and system interactions.
• 5+ years of experience writing, maintaining, and executing unit tests to ensure code reliability and validation.
• 5+ years of experience working in highly regulated or complex technical domains such as medical devices or defense/aerospace.
• Strong proficiency in software development principles and practices as a software engineer or C++ developer.
• Ability to understand and document data flow diagrams and system architecture.
• Demonstrated capability to work on mathematically intensive and graphics-oriented software features.

This role offers a 100% remote work arrangement, providing flexibility in location and daily work setup. This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

We have an FTO (flexible time off) policy that is essentially unlimited, plus 17 annual paid holidays

This is a fully remote position.
