Position basics
- Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Overtime: Typically 5–8 hours during the week; weekends are uncommon
- Compensation: Starts at $22+/hour, depending on education, training, and experience
What you’ll do
- Learn to set up and run CNC mills, lathes, and EDM machines
- Create and adjust programs with G-code and/or CAM
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specs to plan operations
- Hit tight tolerancesas close as .0005"and verify with precision tools
- Select/build fixtures and tooling; make adjustments as needed
- Upload/download programs; perform edits under supervision
- Monitor machining processes; inspect parts for accuracy
- Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm dimensions
- Troubleshoot alarms and common machining issues
- Handle routine and preventive maintenance
- Grow into running multiple machines
- Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement efforts
- Gain experience with tooling, dies, molds, and precision components
What you bring
- Early-career technician with technical schooling in CNC/machining/tool & die
- Graduate or near-graduate of a CNC, machining, manufacturing, or tool & die program
- Apprenticeship experience (in progress or recently completed) is welcome
- College coursework in machining/manufacturing or related fields
- Interest in long-term growth in CNC programming, EDM, tooling, mold making, or tool & die
Technical foundation we like to see
- CNC setup and operation; mills and lathes
- Tooling selection and adjustment
- Tool & die principles
- G-code and CAM familiarity
- Blueprint reading and shop math
- Precision measurement with calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Understanding of tolerances and inspection
Nice-to-have exposure: Mastercam, BobCAD, OneCNC, AutoCAD, or Fanuc controlsnot required.
Education & training
- High school diploma or GED required
- Recent or upcoming completion of a CNC, machining, tool & die, manufacturing technology, or similar technical program strongly preferred
- College, trade/vocational school, apprenticeship, or hands-on training all considered
- No prior full-time machining experience required
- Background or exposure in tool & die, mold making, or tooling is highly desirable
