The Commercial Inventory Coordinator is responsible for receiving and managing incoming commercial vehicle inventory, ensuring all new truck shipments are complete and accurately documented. This position verifies that all required accessories, equipment, and documentation accompany each vehicle and maintains an organized inventory lot through strategic vehicle placement and movement. The Commercial Inventory Coordinator works closely with sales, service, transportation, and management teams to ensure inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and vehicle readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming commercial truck shipments.
  • Verify shipment documentation, VINs, vehicle specifications, and inventory records.
  • Conduct visual inspections for transportation damage and report discrepancies.
  • Confirm all factory-installed and dealer-installed accessories, equipment, keys, manuals, and related documentation are included with each vehicle.
  • Coordinate resolution of missing accessories, equipment, or shipment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and update inventory management systems as needed.
  • Move, stage, and arrange vehicles throughout the lot to maximize space utilization and improve accessibility.
  • Monitor and maintain organized lot layouts to support efficient sales, delivery, and service operations.
  • Perform periodic inventory audits and assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Locate and prepare vehicles for customer deliveries, demonstrations, service appointments, and transportation requests.
  • Ensure vehicles are stored, handled, and moved in accordance with company policies and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Class B CDL
  • Ability to safely operate commercial trucks and other dealership vehicles.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer and data-entry proficiency.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the vehicle lot during the workday.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of inventory control, vehicle receiving, and lot management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial trucks and other vehicles.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
