QUALITY ENGINEER

POSITION SUMMARY

Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement across manufacturing operations by analyzing processes, investigating quality issues, and developing data-driven inspection strategies. This role partners closely with production, customers, and suppliers to ensure products consistently meet quality and compliance requirements and plays a key part in maintaining the organization's quality management system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative process analyses and recommend improvements that enhance both product quality and production capacity.
• Lead investigations into manufacturing issues affecting quality and oversee the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop inspection and sampling plans informed by historical failure-rate analysis.
• Serve as the quality point of contact for customer and supplier interactions, as required.
• Support documentation of internal processes and the quality metrics associated with them.
• Oversee and conduct Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Quality Systems & Standards Knowledge

• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, to the level of an internal auditor.
• Familiarity with electronic assembly standards and requirements, including IPC-A-610 and IPC/J-STD.
• Understanding of ESD principles and practices.
• Must be US Person to comply with ITAR regulations.

Technical Skills

• Strong measurement and data analysis skills.
• Basic understanding of electronics.
• Proficiency with problem-solving tools and methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred).
• Familiarity with enterprise software systems (experience with Syteline a plus).

Professional Skills

• Ability to manage multiple, high-priority efforts simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to meet schedule expectations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, including delegating effectively.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates primarily within manufacturing, inspection, and assembly areas, with regular interaction across production, customers, and suppliers. Candidates should be comfortable spending time on the production floor to investigate quality issues, conduct inspections, and observe processes firsthand. Standard PPE and safety protocols apply in production areas.
