Engineered Systems & Services (ESS) is looking for a mechanical engineer in our Suwanee, GA office.
About Us:
ESS provides design and construction management services for a growing variety of clients in government, healthcare, and water/wastewater facilities markets.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be based in our Suwanee, Georgia office, approximately 35 minutes northeast of downtown Atlanta. Proficiency in HVAC design is a must, but proficiency in plumbing and fire protection systems is a plus. The position offers career paths that could lead to mechanical discipline leadership or project management depending upon your interests.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Design for HVAC primarily, but knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems design will be helpful.
- Developing reports and narratives for preliminary design submittals, evaluations, and troubleshooting reports.
- Performing Construction Administration for projects under construction, including reviewing construction submittals, responding to requests for information, and conducting periodic site visits W
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited bachelor’s degree program in mechanical engineering
License: Engineer-in-Training (passed the Fundamentals in Engineering Exam)
Experience: 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
Availability: Full-time; Monday – Friday; 8 hours daily
Language: Speak and write English proficiently
Mobility: GeorgiaDriver’s license
Required Skills:
- HVAC systems design
- Capability to lead a multi-disciplined team of engineers and designers to execute project objectives.
- Proficient with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong technical and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC system design and engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar)
- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards, SMACNA guidelines, and local mechanical codes
- Experience with energy modeling and load calculation software (Trane TRACE, HAP, or similar)
- PE license or EIT certification is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Undergoing a background check.
- Verification of US citizenship or permanent legal resident status
