Mechanical Design Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our manufacturing team in the production of high precision tooling and dies for progressive dies manufacturing metal stampings. In this role, your primary duty is to develop and design tools, dies and fixtures for custom precision metal stampings. Primarily progressive tooling in high-speed presses. This position is full-time, 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.
DUTIES
- 3-5 years+ experience
- Develop and design dies and tooling based on customer requirements. This may include programming as needed and strong knowledge of in-die sensors and other needed equipment.
- Solid understanding of AutoCAD and other related software's
- Assist product/tooling quoting as needed
- Troubleshooting of dies, tooling and press situations
- Purchase needed supplies, components, etc., for dies and tooling. This includes approving invoices.
- Work collaboratively with Toolroom staff in die development and programming needs.
- Work collaboratively with Operations Manager, Quality and Sales
QUALIFICATIONS
- Work well under tight timelines
- Strong knowledge of toolroom and production equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem solving mindset
- Must be able to work independently but also collaborate and communicate well with others
- Excellent computer skills
- Must speak and read fluent English
Pay rate based on experience and skills can could range from $25-$30 an hour.
