Description:
MES is seeking a Curriculum Developer to support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of academic instructional materials used within the Future Sailor Preparatory Course. The Curriculum Developer also supports instructor readiness, academic performance analysis, and classroom instruction as required.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain lesson plans, test plans, presentations, student materials, and instructor guides.
- Support curriculum revision and update activities based on program needs and Government feedback.
- Analyze student academic performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with development of tests, quizzes, and instructional materials.
- Support instructor onboarding, training, certification, and coaching activities.
- Observe instructional delivery and provide feedback on curriculum effectiveness.
- Participate in curriculum review meetings and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure instructional materials remain current and aligned with approved Government requirements.
- Provide classroom instruction, tutoring, and study hall support as required.
- Maintain curriculum documentation and records in accordance with contract requirements.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics education, reading education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of experience in adult or young-adult education. Experience teaching mathematics, reading, literacy, or academic remediation programs required. Must have completed instructor training or possess an academic teaching credential.
Qualifications:
- Shall be able to read, write, speak, enunciate clearly, and fully comprehend the English language.
- The minimum education and experience required to perform these services/tasks include a bachelor's degree in any area of study and a Teaching Certificate from any state or a master's degree in any area of study. The degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by a national or regional accredited agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- End-user instructional experience in Distance Learning (DL) or formal training.
- DL for the sites involved in DL and the ability to assist students with DL curriculum and with DL technical equipment is required along with a demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience consisting of at least one (1) year experience in individualized or classroom instruction, including prescriptive remediation of skills in the areas of Math, Reading, English Grammar, Science, Writing, Language Arts, or oral and written communication.
- A National Agency Check with Investigation (NACI) is required for this position.
- Must be able to qualify for a secret clearance.
