We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated ILS Instructor to support individuals in developing the skills needed to live as independently as possible. The ILS Instructor provides individualized instruction, guidance, and encouragement based on each person’s goals, abilities, and needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one instruction in independent living skills.
- Teach and support daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care, housekeeping, shopping, and organization.
- Assist individuals with developing communication, social, and community-integration skills.
- Support individuals with budgeting, money management, scheduling, and other practical life skills.
- Encourage independence, confidence, decision-making, and self-advocacy.
- Develop and follow individualized goals and training plans.
- Document services, progress, activities, and outcomes accurately and on time.
- Communicate professionally with individuals, families, caregivers, and other members of the support team.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment.
- Follow all company policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant experience is a plus.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental disabilities, or other support needs preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working independently.
- Ability to provide hands-on instruction and community-based support.
- Reliable transportation may be required depending on the position.
- Must successfully complete required background checks and training.
