Quoting Engineer – PCB/PCBA

About the RoleWe're looking for a Quoting Engineer to join our estimating team and support the pricing and cost analysis of printed circuit boards and PCB assemblies (PCBA). You'll work at the intersection of engineering, data, and sales translating customer specs and BOMs into accurate, competitive quotes using our internal costing tools and databases. This is a great fit for someone with a few years of hands-on manufacturing, quoting, or process engineering experience who wants to grow into a specialized, high-impact technical role.
What You'll Do- Review customer RFQs, drawings, Gerber files, and BOMs to determine manufacturability and cost drivers
- Generate accurate PCB fabrication quotes using estimating software and internal pricing databases
- Analyze historical quoting and production data to refine cost models and pricing algorithms
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback
- Maintain and improve quoting databases, templates, and automated estimating tools
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure quote accuracy and turnaround speed
- Track win/loss data and margin performance to continuously improve estimating accuracy
- Support development of quoting algorithms/spreadsheet models that speed up turnaround for standard vs. complex boards
- 3–5 years of experience in PCB manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, cost estimating, or a related engineering role
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, macros/VBA a plus); comfort building and working with structured databases
- Familiarity with PCB fabrication processes (layer count, materials, finishes, tolerances) is preferred.
- Analytical mindset comfortable working with data sets, cost models, and pricing logic
- Experience with ERP/MRP or quoting software a plus, not required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple quotes under deadline pressure
- Exposure to SQL or database querying
- Experience building or improving cost-estimation algorithms or tools
- Background in a PCB fab house, EMS provider, or contract manufacturer
