Library Courier Driver
Location: Sarasota County, FL
Pay Rate: $20/hr.
Schedule: 8-5 Monday-Friday - Temporary position
Ad-VANCE Talent Solutions is seeking a dependable Library Courier Driver to support Sarasota County Public Libraries and Historical Resources. This position is responsible for driving a county courier truck to pick up and deliver books, media, mail and other materials between designated locations throughout Sarasota County.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive a county truck equipped with a lift gate along an assigned delivery route.
- Pick up and deliver book bins, mail and other library materials to Library and Historical Resources locations throughout Sarasota County.
- Complete assigned routes promptly, safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials, including items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Monitor the vehicle for routine service and maintenance needs and coordinate with the county Fleet department as needed.
- Assist with Technical Services duties when the courier truck is being serviced or the assigned route is completed early.
- Maintain courteous and professional communication with library staff and other county employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of related experience.
- Valid Florida Class E driver's license.
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate a delivery/courier vehicle and lift gate.
- Dependable and able to follow an established delivery route and schedule.
- Must meet Drug-Free Workplace requirements.
Dress Code
- Work pants.
- Plain T-shirt with no graphics.
- Closed-toe shoes or work boots.
