The Disassembly & Reassembly Technician is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and assessing vehicles for additional or hidden damage. Once the vehicle is ready, the technician will reassemble the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the company blueprinting process and disassembly procedures (DFR) for all vehicle inspections.
- Disassemble vehicles after the initial estimate and inspect for structural and hidden damage.
- Complete full vehicle disassembly to support a 100% repair plan.
- Document all additional damage, required parts, blend panels, moldings, clips, and one-time-use fasteners.
- Communicate supplemental damage and parts needs to the Production Manager/Estimator.
- Assist with vehicle reassembly as needed.
- Perform light non-structural repairs including sanding, finishing, and minor bumper repairs.
- Reinstall moldings, trim, and finishing components.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of auto body repair experience.
- High school diploma or GED required; Auto Body Vo-Tech certification preferred.
- I-CAR and OEM training preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read repair orders, estimates, and work instructions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel and pull
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
- Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
- Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
- Performing repetitive motions
