Yellow Bee Market & Cafe is seeking a professional, dependable Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment for our employees, customers, and property. This position is highly visible and requires an individual who is confident, alert, and capable of handling challenging situations in a calm and professional manner.
Our stores have been experiencing issues involving theft, trespassing, disruptive behavior, and employee safety concerns. We are looking for someone who can provide a strong security presence while maintaining professionalism and good judgment.
Responsibilities
- Patrol the store and surrounding property.
- Deter theft, shoplifting, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
- Monitor customer and employee safety.
- Respond to security incidents and disturbances.
- De-escalate confrontational situations when possible.
- Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary.
- Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
- Enforce company safety and security policies.
- Support some opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous security, law enforcement, military, or loss prevention experience preferred.
- Valid Washington State security guard license (or ability to obtain one).
- Strong communication and conflict-management skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to safely and lawfully respond to security incidents.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in environments with high theft activity.
- Experience interacting with homeless individuals, trespassers, and disruptive customers while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems and incident reporting.
