Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client, a construction company. This role is a key part of the accounting team and provides broad financial support across payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where responsibilities span multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage payroll accurately and on a regular schedule
- Support accounts payable functions including invoice processing and vendor payments
- Assist with accounts receivable activities such as invoicing and payment tracking
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation
- Reconcile payroll, AP, and AR transactions as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Assist with general accounting tasks and special projects as required
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Requirements include:
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a related role
- Experience in a construction or similar industry is a plus
- Exposure to AP and AR processes preferred
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills
Certifications:
- Payroll or accounting certifications are a plus but not required
Knowledge:
- Understanding of payroll processes and basic accounting principles
- Familiarity with AP and AR workflows
- Knowledge of accounting systems and software preferred
