Mixer

Location: Worcester, MA
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:30 PM–10:00 PM
Additional Note:Math assessment required

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mixer to support the preparation of abrasive, ceramic, chemical, resin, and other compound materials used in the manufacturing process. This position involves receiving, retrieving, measuring, screening, re-screening, and manually or mechanically mixing materials in quantities ranging from small amounts to bulk volumes.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, retrieve, and measure a variety of raw and previously mixed materials.
  • Handle materials stored in various containers, including 40-pound containers, 50-pound bags, bulk bags, totes, large drums, and hoppers.
  • Operate or tend mixing and processing equipment.
  • Manually mix or re-screen materials according to production requirements.
  • Prepare abrasive grains, ceramic materials, chemicals, resins, and other compounds for production.
  • Screen and re-screen products as needed.
  • Prepare bond material for handoff to the Mixer II and Molding functions.
  • Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and material-handling requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to accurately measure and handle materials in various quantities.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely handle containers weighing up to 50 pounds and work with bulk materials.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals, resins, ceramic materials, abrasive grains, and other manufacturing compounds.
  • Previous manufacturing, material-handling, mixing, or machine-operating experience is preferred but not required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
  • Handle and move material containers and supplies.
  • Work around manufacturing equipment, raw materials, and compounds.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures.
