Job Title: Offset Sheetfed Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Location: Garner, North Carolina
Schedule: 5:30 PM–5:30 AM | Rotating 3-day schedule
Compensation: $30–$38/hour, based on experience

A well-established printing and packaging manufacturer in the Garner, NC area is hiring experienced Offset Sheetfed Press Operators for its night shift. This is a hands-on press operator position for someone who can independently make ready, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a sheetfed offset press while consistently producing high-quality printed work.

The company is looking for operators with at least 2 years of press operator experience, strong mechanical ability, and a solid understanding of color, registration, ink density, and print quality.

• Set up, make ready, and operate offset sheetfed printing equipment.

• Review job tickets for quantities, stock specifications, colors, and special printing requirements.

• Inspect printing plates for defects and address minor issues when possible.

• Set blanket packing and adjust the press for different paper and substrate thicknesses.

• Set and adjust ink and dampening systems.

• Monitor ink density, color, registration, and overall print quality throughout each production run.

• Make feeder and delivery adjustments as required.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, print quality, feeding, registration, and production issues.

• Replace and adjust rollers and perform other routine press adjustments using hand tools.

• Complete press wash-ups, cleaning, and required preventive maintenance.

• Help direct, train, and support press crew members.

• Maintain an organized work area and follow established safety procedures.

• Meet production and quality expectations while minimizing waste and downtime.

• 2+ years of experience operating an offset printing press.

• Previous sheetfed offset printing experience strongly preferred.

• Ability to perform press setup and changeovers with limited supervision.

• Strong understanding of press mechanics and operating capabilities.

• Ability to identify and correct registration, color, ink density, and other print-quality issues.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

• Ability to accurately distinguish color variations.

• Ability to read job instructions and translate specifications into proper press setup.

• Comfortable working in a production environment that includes noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.

• Ability to regularly stand, bend, reach, lift, turn, and move throughout the production area.

• Experience in commercial printing, packaging, pharmaceutical/medical print, or other quality-driven print environments.

• Experience working with multiple colors and tight registration requirements.

• Previous experience leading or directing press helpers or second press operators.

• Experience working in environments with strong quality-control and production standards.

Operators work either Monday–Wednesday or Thursday–Saturday, rotating between the front and back half of the week approximately every four weeks.

Candidates should be comfortable working a consistent 12-hour overnight production schedule.
