Senior IT Project Manager

MDW Associates is seeking Senior IT Project Managers to lead and support information-technology projects from planning through execution, with emphasis on integrated schedules, risks, performance, technical documentation, and continuous improvement for a complex Department of War organization. The role serves as a trusted partner to technical teams and leadership.

This role supports a federal organization responsible for personnel security, mission assurance, and protection of sensitive work environments.

This position is remote eligible; periodic on-site support in Quantico, Virginia may be required based on mission needs.

The Senior IT Project Manager may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, performance measures, cost information, and status reports for IT initiatives.
• Coordinate project reviews, working groups, and stakeholder meetings; prepare agendas, briefings, minutes, and action-item trackers.
• Draft and edit technical documentation, including project plans, policies, procedures, standards, user guides, reports, and briefings.
• Support process assessments, root-cause analyses, after-action reports, SOP development, change management, and knowledge-transfer activities.
• Monitor project performance, compliance documentation, budget, and delivery risks; provide recommendations for leadership consideration.
• Support development of controls and performance measures aligned to applicable IT, cybersecurity, and program-management standards.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Experience managing multiple technology projects or workstreams and producing executive-ready status materials.
• Strong technical writing, facilitation, stakeholder-management, and Microsoft Office skills.
• This position requires U.S. citizenship in accordance with applicable government contract requirements.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

• PMP, PgMP, Scrum, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable certification.
• Experience with IT governance, NIST-aligned documentation, ServiceNow, SharePoint, or similar enterprise tools.

Education Requirement(s):

• Master's degree or 5+ years of experience leading or supporting complex projects, plus at least 5 years supporting project planning, scheduling, risk management, or performance reporting.

Security Requirement(s):

• Candidates for this position must have an Active US Security Clearance (Secret).
