Senior General Accountant

Key Works is seeking an experienced Senior General Accountant, to perform and support the upgrade and conversion of accounting systems for the Key Works companies. Strong understanding of US GAAP is required, non-profit accounting and state regulations regarding substance abuse recovery are helpful. Position reports to the Accounting Manager with considerable input by Controller.

• Work with Controller and company managers on annual budget process.
• Develop training materials and training for the new/updated systems. Develop reporting including the consolidated financials.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of accounting Internal Controls.
• Help manage accounting for grants, fund raising and in-house projects.
• Work with Controller and company managers on annual budget process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.

• Ability to read and integrate statutory regulations into policy and processes. Federal, State, Local.

• Ability to work with sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA.
• Must be able to work as a team member and keep Accounting Manager and Controller regularly informed of project status.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational skills including ability to multi-task, prioritize project tasks, and effectively manage time to complete assignments according to project plan.
• Meticulous attention to details with excellent reconciliation skills that include backup worksheets.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 7 plus years experience in accounting. Must have experience in system applications conversions. Experience in designing, implementing, and executing internal control and process improvements helpful.

Computer Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint, QuickBooks Desktop required. Keyboard typing using both hands is required (qwerty). Ability to use 10-key. Minimum of Intermediate skills in Excel and Word.
