Our engineering and fabrication teams work closely together, allowing programmers to be involved throughout the development process-from initial design and programming through testing, installation, and customer startup.

Position Summary

Vidac Solutions is seeking a Full-Time LabVIEW Programmer to join our engineering team in Fenton, Missouri. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing custom automation solutions, and working on unique test equipment from concept through startup.

The successful candidate will design and develop intuitive, operator-friendly controls and user interfaces using National Instruments LabVIEW. Most programming projects involve custom-built machines designed for specific customer applications, with some maintenance and enhancement of existing programs.

A strong working knowledge of SQL databases and queries is required, along with experience integrating instruments, hardware, and data acquisition systems with LabVIEW.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop custom LabVIEW applications and operator interfaces for specialized test equipment.
• Design intuitive, user-friendly controls and screens for machine operators.
• Integrate LabVIEW applications with instruments, sensors, data acquisition hardware, and other equipment.
• Configure and program hardware to collect field data and control equipment.
• Develop and maintain SQL database connections, data storage, and queries.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing LabVIEW programs.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, and fabrication personnel throughout the equipment development process.
• Assist with equipment testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup.
• Travel occasionally to customer facilities to assist with equipment installation and startup.
• Document programming, system functionality, and troubleshooting procedures as needed.

Education

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.

Equivalent professional experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of National Instruments LabVIEW programming experience.
• Experience moving data to and from SQL databases.
• Experience configuring instruments and hardware to collect data or control equipment through LabVIEW.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with engineers and technicians.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into reliable, operator-friendly software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Wonderware InTouch HMI
• Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk HMI
• Industrial automation and controls
• Data acquisition systems
• Electrical or instrumentation systems
• Machine automation and test equipment

Work Environment

This is primarily an in-person position at our Fenton, Missouri office and attached climate-controlled fabrication shop.

The position provides an opportunity to work directly with engineers, technicians, fabricators, and equipment throughout the development and testing process.

Approximately 10% travel may be required for customer equipment installation, commissioning, and startup
