Machine Operator

The Machine Operator sets up and monitors all looms to ensure fabrics are produced consistently, at high quality, and at optimal performance. This role maintains and repairs looms to approved maintenance standards, supports the development of technical skills within the production environment, and collaborates closely with facilities, health and safety, and quality teams to meet production plan targets and uphold the quality system.

• Set up all looms to ensure consistent, high-quality fabric production and optimal machine performance.
• Monitor loom operations throughout production runs and make adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on looms in accordance with approved maintenance standards.
• Identify mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems quickly to minimize downtime.
• Train and develop technical skills of personnel within the production environment to help achieve production targets.
• Support team members on the production floor by sharing best practices for machine operation and fabric quality.
• Work closely with facilities personnel to ensure production plan targets are met on schedule.
• Collaborate with health and safety and quality personnel to ensure effective performance of the quality system.
• Follow established quality inspection procedures to verify that fabrics meet required specifications.
• Communicate maintenance schedules and machine breakdowns clearly with production technicians.
• Advise production and maintenance teams of any recurring trends or issues in loom breakdowns.
• Use computer-controlled and CNC-type interfaces to operate and adjust machinery as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in line with facility standards and safety guidelines.

• Proven experience working in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience operating machines, with exposure to stitching or textile production considered a plus.
• Strong mechanical skills with the ability to understand and work with mechanical systems and components.
• Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical and operational issues on looms.
• Experience with machine setup, including configuring looms and related equipment for specific production runs.
• Quality inspection experience, with the ability to identify defects and ensure products meet specifications.
• Machine operating experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Computer control experience, including working with CNC or similar computer-controlled machinery.
• Ability to communicate clearly with production, maintenance, and quality teams about schedules, breakdowns, and trends.

• Associate degree preferred, ideally in a technical, manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience working with stitching or textile machinery is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a structured production environment with established processes and quality standards.
• Willingness to train and support colleagues in developing technical and machine operating skills.

This is a Permanent position based out of Orangeburg, SC.

The pay range for this position is $39520.00 - $41600.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
