Governance Analyst

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Governance Analyst to support Information Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives. This individual will play a key role in conducting risk assessments, supporting governance frameworks, maintaining controls and policies, performing vendor audits, and helping ensure technology risks are appropriately identified, documented, and addressed.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of hands-on experience in an IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance environment and be comfortable communicating findings and recommendations to both technical teams and organizational leadership.
Experience with OneTrust is highly preferred. Exposure to data governance and data security platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Collibra, Alation, and Databricks is also valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct IT risk assessments to identify technology risks, control gaps, and appropriate strategic next steps
- Support and enhance Information Technology Governance, Risk, and Compliance programs
- Maintain, update, and develop IT governance frameworks, controls, policies, standards, and procedures
- Assist with vendor audits and third-party risk assessments
- Evaluate existing controls and recommend improvements based on identified risks
- Work with business, technology, security, and governance stakeholders to support risk remediation efforts
- Utilize GRC and governance platforms to document and track risks, controls, assessments, and remediation activities
- Support data governance and data security initiatives
- Prepare clear, concise reports, presentations, and governance documentation for management and organizational leadership
- Communicate complex risk and governance concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Assist with continuous improvement of governance processes, policies, controls, and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, IT Audit, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in an Information Technology Governance environment
- Demonstrated experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
- Hands-on experience conducting IT risk assessments
- Experience maintaining, updating, or creating IT frameworks, controls, and policies
- Experience supporting vendor audits and/or third-party risk activities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to create professional reports and presentations for management and leadership
- Ability to communicate findings, recommendations, and governance requirements across different levels of an organization
- Ability to work onsite 3 days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Industry certifications such as:
- Experience with OneTrust or a comparable IT Governance/GRC platform
- Experience with data governance tools such as:
- Collibra
- Alation
- Databricks
- Experience with data and AI security/governance tools such as:
- Experience with Tableau or another business intelligence/reporting platform
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be an experienced IT Governance or GRC professional who can operate effectively in an environment involving IT risk, controls, compliance, policy development, vendor oversight, and data governance.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can independently assess risk, clearly document findings, recommend practical next steps, and confidently communicate with management and leadership.
Work Arrangement
This is a 1-year contract opportunity requiring a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week in the office.
